2014 is the Year of the Horse. People born in the Year of the Horse are clever, kind, animated and energetic. Although they sometimes talk too much, they are cheerful, perceptive, talented and love to be in the centre of a crowd. They are popular among friends, active at work and have a deft sense of humour.

The CVBF members were honoured to take part in their first Vietnamese Lunar New Year celebration held annually at the Edmonton City Hall. It was a wonderful opportunity for the Vietnamese community and organizations to be introduced to our Foundation.  The many representatives from these businesses and organizations were so kind and welcoming to us.

University students from the UofA Vietnamese Students’ Association volunteered their time to help us out. Susan did a fabulous job organizing a craft table for the multitude of children who came for the festive games and arts & crafts. Team members Linh, Nhung, Rebecca and Thelicia were also on hand to help. It was a delight to see how happy the children were to get treats after their creative work. The afternoon was filled with musical and cultural dance performances.

We were so moved to be a part of such a beautiful and joyous event. Hopefully, with the increased awareness, our Foundation will have increased support to help the children in Vietnam.

We wish everyone a joyous, healthy and prosperous New Year!
