Tra Vinh Elementary School

May 7, 2017 – Volunteers from the Smile of Compassion project, led by the very kind Mr. Nam Hong Nguyen, hiked up the mountainous region of Tra Vinh ward, Nam Tra My district in Quang Nam province, passing through suspension bridges and rain forest for about 1.5 hours in order to get to the remote Tra Vinh elementary school in Ward 2. The amazing volunteers brought to them (and helped install) a Solar System donated by the Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation to help provide power for the school, staff and student, to use electricity, lighting, computer, tele-communication, and electric fans in hot weather. This is the first time the village has been provided with power or solar energy. Tears were coming down the cheeks of those teachers due to much happiness.
