Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation – Giving Hope and Opportunities

The Van Tran CVBF Memorial Bursary program was established to honor the memory of our dear friend Caterina Thanh Van Tran (1975 - 2018) and her dedication to the Children of Vietnam Benevolent Foundation. Caterina Thanh Van Tran was a graduate of the dental hygiene program at the University of Alberta, a loving mother, and a great friend to many who knew her. She was radiant in her inner beauty, and her strength and courage inspired many.
A bursary in the amount of $1000 will be awarded annually to honour the legacy of Caterina Thanh Van Tran.
This program is open to members of the Vietnamese student community who are actively participating and contributing to the betterment of our community while concurrently pursuing their post-secondary
education. Candidates can submit an application or be nominated by a peer/community member. The criteria for application/nomination are as follows :
• Demonstrates active participation in community efforts, either with the Vietnamese community directly or as a member of our cultural community, contributing to the community at large.
• Currently enrolled or entering into any post-secondary institutions in Alberta with adequate standings.
• Have an overall vision of their lifelong goals with continued efforts towards community and global efforts.
Applicants are required to complete the application form and provide the requested additional documents. Additional letters of references and letters of intent are not necessary if the candidate is nominated.
We hope that Van Tran's memory and spirit are sustained through this program and that we honor her life with meaning and contribution to further individual futures.
